Kiami

The kiami is a small, aerial animal indigenous to [Crusader (Stanton II)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VarZxj1Qav-crusader-stanton-ii), [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth). Found in all parts of the planet's atmosphere, the kiami feeds on aeroplankton and tiny pieces of organic matter floating on the wind. It forms an important part of the food chain as the main component of the [stormwal's](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RX34BjN2NK-stormwal) diet. Nearly half of all kiami are consumed by predators each year. Female kiami give birth to thousands of young at a time, and can breed again days after carrying a brood to term.
