Tamsa System

The Tamsa system is a planetary system in the [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth). Uniquely among UEE systems, its two planets revolve around a black hole rather than a star. The innermost world is thought to have been a rogue planet before it was captured by the black hole, while the outermost planet likely formed in the black hole's accretion disk. The system was discovered in SEY 2943 by [Banu](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0NwpYPpNZ4-banu) explorer [Kofi Baféuma](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bE3rL1DkwW-kofi-bafeuma), who sold the rights to the system to the UEE under the condition that they be allowed to name it after noted [Human](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Nwpnr6wa2-humans) visual artist [Tamsa Wheel](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RXlXOw9WaN-tamsa-wheel). Currently, Tamsa is accessible only via the [Banshee](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Gx4BENmKg-banshee-system)-Tamsa [jump point](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0rqzJPaMpY-jump-point), but UEE officials hope that other jump points will be found in the near future.
