Genesis System

The Genesis system is a [developing planetary system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V7gMqAvgv2-developing-system) that consists of a G-type main sequence star, a mesoplanet, a terrestrial planet, an ice giant, and an asteroid belt. Discovered in SEY 2812, it was immediately evident that the second planet from the sun was lush with vegetation. Many [terraforming](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qgj8vjnj-terraforming) companies put in early bids with the [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth) government, but were ultimately barred from developing the system when the [Fair Chance Act](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RXlXmnaYGP-fair-chance-act) was invoked after multiple intelligent species were detected on [Genesis II's](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V7dp6XEX52-genesis-ii) surface. The system's other two planets are situated on either side of the [green band](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/ReJaAjgOwy-green-band), and are poor candidates for terraformation.
