Virgil System

The Virgil system is a planetary system within [Vanduul territory](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RPDAMLKP74-vanduul-territory), formerly of the [United Empire of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth)(UEE). Discovered in SEY 2412, it was colonized by [Humans](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Nwpnr6wa2-humans) soon after as a part of [Project Far Star](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0qnNAD6YKa-project-far-star) and became a system renowned for its agriculture and lush vegetation. [Cyrene (Virgil I)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VlMBNGnxK5-cyrene-virgil-i) in particular was covered in tropical forests and densely populated cities. The system was ransacked by the [Vanduul](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VpGPp92gdO-vanduul) in 2737, immediately following the [Siege of Tiber](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0OaBY5pGrq-siege-of-tiber). Now occupied by the Vanduul, many of Virgil's celestial bodies are being strip-mined by [Clans](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/R9vzjxmEBx-vanduul-clans) passing through the system, and Cyrene has been rendered nearly uninhabitable.
