Vulture System (VS-09)

The Vulture system (designated VS-09 by the [United Empire of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth) (UEE)) is a [Vanduul](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VpGPp92gdO-vanduul)-controlled planetary system that shares a jump point with the [Orion system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VlMpwMky6d-orion-system). In SEY 2712 on 16 February, thousands of Vanduul ships erupted from the previously-unknown jump point and initiated the [Battle of Orion](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RMXyYxqw8K-battle-of-orion). After two days of fighting, the UEE was forced to retreat and cede Orion to the Vanduul. It is included in UEE star charts as a part of [Vanduul territory](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RPDAMLKP74-vanduul-territory), but all other details on it are classified.
