Castra I

Castra I is a coreless planet in the [Castra system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/R4jxkAd8El-castra-system), [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth)). Too close to the sun to be [terraformed](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qgj8vjnj-terraforming) for [Human](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Nwpnr6wa2-humans) habitation, the [UEE Navy](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RPDvKOpdP4-uee-navy) used Castra I for target practice and weapons testing throughout the [Messer Era](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V8gJ6ZwGqo-messer-era) (SEY 2546 - 2792), leaving it covered in craters. The swathes of glass left on the surface after centuries of weapon impacts will sometimes catch the light and make the planet appear to glitter.
