Jalan (Elysium IV)

Jalan is the most populous planet in the [Elysium system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RvlQrKZxPO-elysium-system), [United Empire of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth) (UEE), and is the home planet of [Tevarin](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V8gJv3nB3X-tevarin). Originally called Kaleeth, it was annexed by the [United Planets of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0QxBjKP2PN-united-planets-of-earth) (UPE) at the end of the [First Tevarin War](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bZwQm3meJM-first-tevarin-war) and colonized by [Humans](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Nwpnr6wa2-humans), displacing many Tevarin. [Warlord Corath'Thal](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RkGxWGQ2Qp-warlord-coraththal) launched the [Second Tevarin War](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bE3rPrz3Pv-second-tevarin-war) to retake the lost planet, but his efforts ultimately failed. In SEY 2610, it was recognized by the [UEE Senate](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VaZn8OqaNZ-senate) and renamed Jalan. The oldest known Tevarin structures that survived both Tevarin wars and the [Purge](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/R6dWB877Nn-tevarin-purge) can be found here; most notably, the Rijoran Temple in Gemma. In 2946, one of its current Senators, [Suj Kossi](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RMNgraDJAA-suj-kossi), became the first Tevarin elected to the Senate.
