First sold in 2930, it is a part of Rayari Inc's line of plants designed to aid in the [terraforming](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qgj8vjnj-terraforming) process. It has quick-growing, pliable, leaves that can be used as a plastic substitute on newly-settled worlds. When cut into strips and tightly woven together, sheets of sail casica leaves can become water-repelling tarps or raincoats.
