Tanga Belt Alpha

The Tanga belt alpha is an asteroid belt in the unclaimed [Tanga system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0GxAv6oweE-tanga-system). Astronomers hypothesize that its asteroids are the remains of one or more terrestrial planets that broke apart when the star expanded into a red giant. Since then, the star has collapsed into a white dwarf, leaving a vast empty gap between the belt and its sun. Many of the asteroids, long-exposed to the heat of the white dwarf, have been sublimated into ovoid shapes.
