A massive super-Earth, Tohil IV exerts a strong gravitational pull that attracts frequent meteor and comet strikes. Deep craters pockmark its surface, some of which were utilized by anti-Messer revolutionaries during the final years of the [Messer Era](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V8gJ6ZwGqo-messer-era) (2546 - 2792) as clandestine transfer spots for political refugees fleeing to safety.
