Tao'nuasao Y.ah'a se Xy.ō was the first [Emperor](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VYLyPxQnpp-emperor-taunuasao-taoyusao) of the [Second Imperial Age](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RAdjOk77n7-second-imperial-age). A food microbiologist, she joined her House's [Council of Three](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/Rw1DPO8v8q-council-of-three) when she discovered a type of bacteria that enabled quick fermentation of grains and legumes, thus staving off a potential famine on Ka'ua (Hyoton IV). When Xy.ō was selected to succeed [Ru'a](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qgaLK82W-house-rua) as the next Imperial House, she was chosen to be Emperor due to her auspicious position as the youngest of three daughters.
