Kins I is the first planet from the sun of the [Kins system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bmGynZ68oP-kins-system), [Banu Protectorate](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/Vgg795z2a3-banu-protectorate). A mesoplanet with an iron-rich crust, it has been extensively mined and bears the scars of ancient strip-mining operations. Visitors to the planet have been known to utilize its myriad abandoned mining structures as temporary shelter during the day, when the nearby sun causes dangerously high temperatures.
