Vanduul

The Vanduul are hostile beings capable of space flight, quantum travel, and [jump point](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0rqzJPaMpY-jump-point) navigation. [Humans](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Nwpnr6wa2-humans) first made contact with the Vanduul after a Clan [raided Dell Township](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RWwZDmxaXP-vanduul-human-first-contact) on [Armitage (Orion III)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RL6KLK4ylo-armitage-orion-iii) in SEY 2681, killing all the settlers but one. Every subsequent encounter with the Vanduul has resulted in mass deaths. The location of their homeworld is unknown. As a culture, the Vanduul seem to lack a central government or command structure; each Clan operates as a self-governing entity. All attempts at the establishment of diplomatic connections between Humans and Vanduul have failed.
