Second Imperial Age

The Second [Imperial](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VYLyPxQnpp-emperor-taunuasao-taoyusao) Age, ruled by [House Xy.ō](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RXlXBrm5o1-house-xyo), was the shortest dynasty in [Xi'an](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/ReJwN9KJEj-xian) history, lasting over 1700 MXY. During this time, Xi'an explorers discovered multiple planetary systems and expanded the borders of the [Xi'an Empire (SaoXy'an)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0n96JkwNo9-xian-empire). In MXY II.914 (SEY 291), they achieved first contact with the [Kr'thak](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RxNxDYkqzz-krthak) culture and attempted to establish a trade relationship. After several decades of strained relations, the [Spirit Wars](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0dQ4DYJ9W8-spirit-wars) (II.961 - II.1735 / SEY 351 - 1342) erupted, ravaging the latter half of the Age. The entirety of House Xy.ō was killed in a bombing incursion by the Kr'thak in II.1706 (SEY 1305). This began [the Dark](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvYXnM2Pl-the-dark/) (II.1706 - II.1824 / SEY 1305 - 1457), an era in which the Xi'an Empire had no official Imperial House. Xi'an historians group the Dark in with the Second Imperial Age, formally ending it at the ascension of [House Kr.ē](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/R6v8OZOrP5-house-kree) to the imperial throne in II.1824 (SEY 1457).
