Celebration Week

Celebration Week is a holiday period in the [United Empire of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth) (UEE) that commemorates when all people in the [United Nations of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/R4ZQpY83oO-united-nations-of-earth) (UNE) gained the rights to self-determine their romantic relationships and gender identities. It arose from two holidays that were held on [Vann (Croshaw III)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bZkk4l4j2D-vann-croshaw-iii) in the [Croshaw system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0qanKAEJwp-crowshaw-system) to recognize when these hard-won rights became local law. After many decades, the holidays were eventually combined into a week-long celebration that was held on both Vann and the much more temperate [Angeli (Croshaw II)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0QlxqwG14Q-angeli-croshaw-ii). It became such a popular event that it started attracting tourists to Angeli in particular from other parts of the UNE, boosting economic growth and thus inspiring other planets to host their own festivals. In SEY 2450, Celebration Week was made an official holiday throughout the UNE.
